AI can build a website in a minute. Then what?

Thousands of businesses generated a site with AI this year. We are researching what happened next: who could edit it, who could sell with it, and who quietly rebuilt it. Two minutes of your experience shapes the report, and you get the results first.

Why this research

The industry has an "after the first draft" problem.

AI site builders are getting remarkable at the first draft. But reviewers now rate one-shot builders down as "cookie-cutter", merchants report AI tools inventing product data and ignoring brand rules, and a name has emerged for the sameness: AI slop.

At the same time, the tools people use to manage a site day to day, a CMS with pages, products, orders and staff logins, have barely joined the AI conversation.

This project maps the gap between the two: what businesses actually need after AI hands them a website. The findings will be published openly. If you have touched an AI website builder in any way, your two minutes below matter.

The survey · 5 questions, ~2 minutes

Tell us what happened after the draft.

1. Have you built (or tried to build) a website with an AI tool?

2. What was the hardest part after the first AI draft?

3. What is your site mainly for?

4. Would you let an AI edit your live site?

5. In your own words, what would the ideal AI + website workflow look like?
